Neil V. Sunderland
Chairman
Neil is a Swiss investor and corporate finance specialist known for working closely with corporate management to help build businesses. His international background, broad industry exposure, and enthusiasm for new ideas led to a rich and eclectic portfolio of investments and advisory roles.
Neil began his career at Swiss Bank Corporation Limited (now UBS) and served as Executive Director of Swiss Bank Corporation International. He was subsequently appointed CEO of Elders Finance and Investment Company in Australia where he led transactions across a broad international remit including real estate, hospitality, natural resources, energy, manufacturing, and retail.
After returning to Switzerland, Neil provided consulting and investment services to private and institutional clients through Adinvest AG. Key investment themes included life sciences, e-commerce, fintech, and the digital economy. Adinvest now operates solely for its own account.
Neil has served on the boards of businesses around the world, ranging from start-ups to listed companies. These included Leica plc, Saurer AG, Cosa Liebermann SA, and RELX Swiss Holdings SA. Neil was Chair of Xing AG (now New Work SE), and a member of Adyen NV’s shareholder committee. He was an advisory board member of Terra Firma Capital Partners Chair of the Neuchatel Beaurivage Hotel, and a long-standing advisory board member of Montreux Equity Partners.
Neil holds a B.Sc. (Eng.) cum laude in Chemical Engineering, and an M.Sc. with distinction in Management Science from Imperial College, London, and a PhD (Dr.sc.techn.) from the (ETH) in Zurich.
